R2Scope

R2Scope is a software package which interfaces with the R2G2 range of universal controllers.
It runs on a standard PC running Windows or Linux (using wine) and provides the following features:

  • monitoring controller system variables and status,
  • logging variables and status to disk,
  • graphical display of variables,
  • display of variables as pseudo-lamps or value-bars,
  • editing and adjustment of control parameters, signal scaling, inversion, etc.,
  • execution of pre-set sequence scripts, with display of commands and results, and separate result logging,
  • user-intuitive interface and on-line context-sensitive help,
  • interfaces for RS232, CAN (J1939) and J1708,
  • editing of map data as graphical display or tabular values,
  • download and upload of calibration data to disk file,
  • download, upload and validation of application programmes,
  • demonstration mode for training operators,
  • keyboard shortcuts for use in moving vehicles.

R2Scope has been carefully crafted to be extremely compact and efficient.  It is supplied as a single executable file of less than 1 MB.  It is installed by copying the file into the directory of your choice.  It doesn't edit the registry, unless you ask it to add file associations.  As the tool is used, it generates its own help files etc. as they are needed.  Care is taken to make sure that new versions are upwardly compatible.
