Success Story - TIU - Test Interface Unit

The TIU is a tailored design for development and maintenance of a military power pack system.    It is designed to help development engineers running the engine on a test-bed, and also to be used as run-up test facility for in-field power pack testing.

The unit simulates the vehicle, peripherals, sensors and driver interface signals, and is configurable and controllable by an R2Scope script or manually using the control panel.

Its flexibility provides automatic and closed-loop control of complex functions, so that it can act as an automated test facility for end-of-line testing, or manual fault-finding tool to speed up the process of pack diagnosis.

While rugged, it is fully portable and lightweight for easy transportation and field vehicle testing.

The concept was developed by R2G2 from initial informal description, and expanded alongside development of the power pack.   R2G2 helped specifiy the features, and assisted the customer in creating new and advanced ways of testing the sophisticated functions of the power pack itself.

Several TIUs have been supplied, and R2G2's quality system has the fexibility to allow each unit to be slightly tailored to the individual requirements of the application and anticipated usage.
